Any diabetics using target ketosis diets for weight loss?

Since learning I am type 2 diabetic and insulin resistant, I have attempted to learn all i can about diabetes and how to deal with it……thatnks to alot of you as well!

I also weight train and actively power lift, so muscle mass and fitness is important.

The last thing I want to do is look like a "skinny fat person" or Dr Adkins…RIP.

Which brings me to the question of target ketosos diets. This consists of 5 days with zero carbs followed by a 2 hour "depletion" workout, after which you "carb up" for the next 48 hours to replenish glocogen and use the available insulin to shuttle protiens into the muscle, hence the term supercompensation.

Has anyone had any experience or thoughts on this? And/or the safety for diabetics.

Thanks!

yEA, i’M A TYPE2 ALSO. Go to: shapefit.com and ask the dietitian there online also they have a trainer online and yes they get right back to you. They are power lifters also alot of them on this site. Personally I’d not do the load up on carbs being a diabetic and you should see warning flags there. I do 140 only once a month going out to eat Italian. I’d never load up on carbs—thats dreaming how could you even look at your meter number???? The doc would double your prescription!!!
