diabetic and weight loss?

hi,
i’m 155cm and 58kg (overwieght!!)
im a diabetic, n started to take HERBALIFE product since 1 weeks ago, nearly 2 weeks now.
i wanted to decrese my weight up to 10kg (if possible, hopefully). becoz both my sisters weight ~45kg, and i blamed my diabetic to cause my weight more than them.
my doctor wanted to prescribe metformin so that i can control my diet and decrease my glucose level. but i just said,NO.

is there any blog/site which i can chat with other diabetic patients who is also undergoing diet ?
i starts to exercise evryday, jog &light exercise for 1 hour everyday , hopefully it can compensate with my taking of herbalife meal exchange. also, twice in a week aerobic class for 1 hour.
i’m a medical student and i am well-educated in diabetic, it’s just, i need somebody to push me more [being quite stubborn, actually,] !

The low carb diet is a good way to lose weight But be prepared it’s not easy. You have to watch everything you eat. I have been on this diet for a week and have lost 10 pounds but you get tired of eating meat and eggs. Drink plenty of water and read the labels you’ll be surprised how many carbs are in the stuff we eat. The plus side is my BS has gone from the 200’s to 115 and I’m Type1. This more than makes up for giving up my goodies ( lasagna, pizza, etc.). Just feeling better is worth it.

go to http://www.lowcarb.about.com and chat with DAR about her extremely strict food plan and the way she has stayed off meds.

About.com is a free site, but you must sign in to be able to read and post on the forum.

much good luck, but it is much easier to control the glucose with metformin than without it.

But my diabetes advanced really rapidly. so I didn’t have much choice. I was never overweight by more than 5 pounds, never ate the junk food, and have always had a very active lifestyle.

Do not let anyone tell you that you are to blame for having diabetes!!! Absolutely you are not to blame!! You are just unlucky!!!
