We only have him in the summer and at Christmas break. I am a vegetarian and my husband is not, so I cook 2 healthy meals every night already to accomadate our diets. My step son is overweight and we have been on him for years about trying new foods, even sweets! He will not eat anything green, red, fruit or vegetable, only chicken nuggets, roman noodles and mac and cheese. His mother makes him anything he wants and I would like to know if there is any hope in breaking his terrible eating habits. The child has gone without food for almost 2 days, on more than 1 occassion, rebelling from what we eat. It’s gotten to the point if he doesn’t know what it is, he won’t look at it. He’s now making his own roman noodles because both my husband and I are tired of the arguing at the table. This has been going on for 5 years. My husband and I are talking of having our own children and I don’t want this subborn child teaching my future kids really bad habits. Please help.
Don’t argue. Offer him what you have, and that is the choice. It is time you got this child under control , or he is going to pay with diabetes, heart trouble, and etc. etc. It is hard, but you can do it. He might go without supper for a while, but he will have to come around. I am not saying at all that he has to be a vegetarian, and a treat once in awhile is fine; but he needs to get his diet right first.
