this is a question that a friend of mine has to get 2 pages out of, can you give us some ideas on what to write about? Her risks would be Overweight, stress, heredity, diet, gender, inactivity, second hand smoke, and that is about it, please help! thanks
Risk factors are divided into 2 categories: those you can do something about & those you can’t. She needs to look at hers & decide which hers belong in. Then she needs to go online & google heart healthy diet. This will give her a start on changing some of her risk factors that she can change. One of her risk factors that is kinda in the gray area is second hand smoke. Obviously, she can’t make other ppl quit smoking but she can work out strategies to limit her exposure. She needs to look at what is causing her stress & how she can develop coping strategies to deal with that stress (that is a completely different question in itself) If I was her teacher I would want to see a paper that showed me that she understood how her risk factors contributed to her increased risk of heart attack & stroke. Then I would want a comprehensive plan of how she would affect the ones that she could change. A heart healthy diet with walking plan would take care of heredity, overweight, diet, inactivity, & to a degree stress. Add a little more just to show off about dealing with stress & finish off with realistic strategies to limit exposure to second hand smoke. A guaranteed.
