i went to doctor to get check little benign lump on my chest. i went through several medical test like Thyroid, VDRL …… But to my surprise my lipid profile is only one came up very bad. my question is,is this resultant of my unplanned diet habits or lipids can be influenced by other factors such as STD’S or other medical conditions.
iam 28 years old.
Raise in lipids are no more indication of stroke and/or heart attacks than flipping a coin.
There are just as many people without high lipid profiles that have strokes and heart attacks as are those with good "cholesterol" levels.
Should first check your family history, then get a heart scan, which you are a bit young for, and also get a Doppler ultrasound to check for plaque in your carotid arteries. If they are negative, don’t worry so much about your lipids.
I can’t even imagine how STD’s factor in this!!??
