weight loss over 50?

I have been told that Iam pre diabetic, my doctor already has put me on a diabetic diet, I walk the treadmill almost everyday but I seem to be stuck. My diabetic counsoler put me on a 1500 calorie day diet for diabetics. I did weight watchers but some foods were wrong for my new diet. I quit smoking over two years ago becaause I almost had a heart attack. I now have two heart stents and physcially feel better. But when I had my stents put in I weighed 174 I now weigh !88. I no longer eat junk food, I watch my portions and I swim. My doctor says the weight will come off. I have weighed most of my adult life around 125 to 140. I have never weighed this much and I get so discourged. But I keep trying. And I also try to at least do some weights at least twice a week. Any suggestions? Thank You
I forgot to metion Iam not on insulin. I take metformin 500mg daily. And Iam pre diabetic, but eat a diabetic diet. Thank you for your support but I really do not want to try the diet supplements, I want to lose the natural way.

First ask your doctor is the kind of insulin you’re on can cause you to gain weight. A member of my group had this problem and by switching to a different insulin had a huge drop in weight. I am 57 and have lost 44 pounds since February.I am six pounds to my goal. I use a treadmill as well. I try to break it up. When I am working I do 30 minutes morning and night but on my days off I do 30 minutes am and then do 30 minutes of weight training. Our rec center has a pool which I try to use a couple times a week to keep from getting bored. When I first started the best I could do was 10 minutes of walking a day so I have come a long way.Feel better soon. You can do this!
