Your physician should give you a diet to follow or a list of diet do’s and don’ts. The number one thing you need to know is that you must restrict your salt intake dramatically! Check all foods for sodium content. Your doctor should tell you what your sodium intake limitations are. Also, avoid alcohol.
The doctor probably put you on a diuretic. Be sure to remember to take that every day! This is essential.
