Well my father he Is going to be 60 in a couple months. His father died of a stroke in his sleep.
Like any guy he don’t like going to doctors and he don’t excersice. Besides me trying to convince him to go to see a doc and walking more what else can I do for him? I’m guessing food is another thing? I’m willing to change my diet cause what he eats I eat.
And if something does happen what should I do? Cpr on him? Or what?
Risk factors for developing a stroke are hypertension, diabetes, smoking, alcohol abuse and some other conditions.
Eating low fat, low sodium foods can keep blood pressure in a healthy range. Avoid smoking and excess alcohol use. Exercise regularly.
If signs of stroke occur you need to call 911 immediately. There are treatments that can be quite effective however they need to be administered within several hours of the stroke occuring so getting to the hospital ASAP is very important.
